In March 2013 TV3 filmed a segment for the Late Lunch Live show on Portmarnock beach and we got to chat about some of the underwater work we do.

We have had an active coast care group involved in the Clean Coasts campaign.

This year Clean Coasts launched a simple initiative to get the public to pick up a few pieces of rubbish while out walking.

With the popularity of social media and hash tags it is hoped that it will motivate people to commit a couple of minutes of their time with the possibility it can make a nationwide impact.

Fingers crossed we see #2minutebeachclean trending on Twitter!

DIVE-AGAINST-DEBRIS

RTE News

As part of the launch of Clean Coasts week in 2012, RTE News ran an item throughout the day.

We had to do a quick clean up of the sea bed and pose for some action shots which is grand until the camera is pointed at you!

It was a great day out and we removed a fair bit of marine litter even in the spotless beach of Sandycove.

Some of our volunteers got in on the action in full scuba gear and were filmed going through the motions of preparing for a dive and actually getting into a choppy enough sea!
